Make-up: the skin's first enemy?

The desire to jump into bed and be hugged by Morpheus after an intense day at work is really strong, but removing make-up is very important. Skin care begins with correct make-up removal, this is the first step for perfect skincare.

During the night the skin "regenerates" and with the residue of make-up , smog, various dirt accumulated throughout the day between changes in temperature and sweat, we do nothing but hinder the skin's own process. Improper make-up removal will only cause the growth of skin impurities . As well as, obviously, having products that are "friendly" to our skin. What does it mean? It means having specific products based on the skin we have and certainly consistency, but lots and lots of consistency.

When we talk about removing make-up, in addition to eliminating the make-up itself, we are also talking about deeply cleansing our skin.

First of all, in addition to removing make-up from the entire face with a basic product, we must eliminate make-up such as mascara and lipstick, which are the most difficult to remove and to do so we must follow small steps.

Having perfect skin will be easy, with five good habits to achieve what you have always dreamed of: smooth, luminous and soft skin like that of a child ! Let's find out how:

1. How do I remove make-up from my face?

Take a cotton pad, wet it with a little micellar water (the two-phase one is perfect, as they say: like dissolves like and cosmetic products are often formulated with fatty substances such as oils and butters), rub gently making small circles on face and eyes. Once this is done, rinse your face with fresh water and pat dry with a cotton towel.

Oils in this case are excellent because they are able to completely "dissolve" makeup, such as eyeliner, and will leave the skin clean and hydrated.

PS: avoid using make-up remover wipes because they will only superficially remove make-up without completely freeing your skin!

It would also be useful to use a detergent, which does not act deeply if used alone, but is useful for any residues on the surface.

2. Eye cleansing oil

Eye removal is important, so then take a cotton pad again and put the cleansing oil on it, this will allow you to remove the most difficult traces of makeup such as mascara. It will also leave your skin very soft. It also turns out to have the ability to adapt to combination, oily, delicate skin types, basically everyone! This does not mean that it is not appropriate to evaluate the type of skin and the possible product to buy, but that you can be more flexible in your choice. Manual skill has its specific weight in the facial cleansing routine and makes the difference in the final result. In particular, the cleansing oil should be applied to dry skin , massaging it for about a minute with the fingertips all over the face and also around the eyes. The time necessary for the oily solution to act, guaranteeing an excellent cleaning effect.

3. Moisturizing night cream. But not just any.

At night, the skin metabolism slows down: it is, therefore, the perfect time to intervene and regenerate it.

The latest research has in fact focused attention on the circadian rhythm , that is, the particular molecular rhythm that the skin follows during the course of 24 hours. And the importance of night face creams emerged from the data. Why? Because they act not only when the skin is less stressed by external agents , but also when its renewal needs a further boost. However, despite these authoritative scientific indications, only 30% of women use a night cream.

While we sleep our skin goes through several changes:

- the skin is more active and the melatonin level increases;
- becomes drier and thinner and may show a slight worsening of facial lines;
- its barrier function is slightly weaker making it more receptive to topical treatment;
- natural exfoliation occurs more slowly;
- the pH of its surface is lowered;
- can focus exclusively on regeneration and rejuvenation, not being busy fighting environmental stresses like during the day: UV rays and pollution.

When you wake up your skin will appear smoother and without imperfections, but don't forget to hydrate your face in the morning too with a day cream and/or hydrating coloring cream , perhaps even with SPF !

4. Peeling

Use a peeling every 15 days or so to remove dead cells on the face.

PS: this step must not be underestimated, it must be done consistently and with soothing products that do not irritate the skin. It shouldn't even be done excessively frequently, because the skin is able to independently eliminate dead skin cells and if done frequently our skin will be more easily exposed to pathogens because it won't have the underlying layer ready to protect us.
